When Art Galleries Come to You

'The Seated Demon' by Mikhail Vrubel

One of my favorite images has long been, the Seated Demon by Mikhail Vrubel. In a previous post I spoke about my reasons for loving this piece. Now you can view the image in detail using Google Art Project. You can also take a virtual tour of major galleries across the world. I am amazed by the brilliance of Mikhail Vrubel. Below are some details of the amazing brushwork/ palette knife. There is such certainty and conviction within the strokes. It seems to contain a belief that it shouldn't be painted in any other way. In my eyes that is true; it is sheer magnificence. The images below were taken using Google Art Project.
