Beholding by Victor Wang

Beholding by Victor Wang

In this painting the figure stares at the viewer. We are being perceived. Her hand gestures show communication, yet her mouth does not speak. Has she paused while she contemplates the words.

The textures in Wang's paintings are beautiful. He almost appears to be sculpting the surface. The layers of paint are controlled by a structured composition. It is both free flowing and controlled.
